Becoming the Storm: Owning Your Power, Owning the Room, Owning the World

What was meant to destroy me became the fire that built me. I was called a scammer.
Splashed on headlines, whispered in gossip circles, and judged by people who never even knew my name - only the story someone else told.
If you searched “Avi Siwa,” you’d probably see everything - my modeling days, nights out with friends, photos with my kids… and of course, the scandals - the lawsuits.
And I’ll talk about one - the one I won (I won three) - see my December 31, 2020 celebration post here.
When I see those search results now, I just smile.
Because I know the truth.
And the truth always outlives the lie.
Five years ago, during the pandemic, I hustled like my life depended on it.
I sold whatever I could - face masks, COVID test kits, rice - anything essential for survival.
Then one deal changed everything.
I spent five long days inside the NBI precinct - questioned, detained, and treated like a criminal.
It was supposed to be a legitimate business transaction through my medical equipment company.
I was fully authorized by a licensed medical importer to sell COVID-19 test kits - legally, transparently, and under contract.
But this woman - the real scammer - orchestrated my entrapment after I warned her I would file charges if she failed to pay.
It was an almost ₱100 million contract.
She signed the agreement quickly, eager to close the deal, but never read the fine print.
The agreement was CIF - Cebu Port.
Everything was clear and documented.
But when her funder backed out at the last minute and couldn’t pay the balance, she suddenly demanded that I deliver under COD terms - Cash on Delivery.
Two completely different arrangements.
Two completely different levels of risk.
Still, we tried to help her.
We even reached out to a councilor in Cebu and secured a copy of the ₱18 million check.
That’s when another mistake surfaced - she had underpriced the deal.
She was paying the supplier more than what she charged the buyer.
By that point, the red flags were impossible to ignore.
She panicked, called the media, and tried to destroy my name.
But karma doesn’t miss.
Her face went public, and suddenly, all the people she scammed came for her.
Her warrants were reactivated.
Her empire of lies collapsed.
What was meant to destroy me became the story that defined me.
Because sometimes, the universe doesn’t punish you - it proves you.
It doesn’t destroy your name - it displays your strength.
I came out sharper.
Wiser.
Stronger.
I stopped explaining myself to people who never earned the truth.
And I rebuilt - not with anger, but with the wisdom this experience gave me.
Today, I answer only to purpose - to myself and my kids.
I no longer seek revenge or validation - only peace and progress.
Walking through the storm was never punishment.
It was preparation for everything I was meant to build.
People told me after to calm down, stay low key, play it safe this time.
Blend in.
Be “nice.” Follow the rules.
But women like me were never built to blend in - we were built to break patterns, shake systems, rewrite the rules, we know who we are - especially when shit hits the fan.
And even when the world feels like it’s crumbling, we don’t run - We rise.
We take it.
We own it.
We face the storm… and we become it.
